Eine Feisty Berg: Literally translated means, One Feisty Mountain.
Second meaning: One feisty Berg (root of my maiden name)
And Thirdly: A cordial nod to Martin Luther and J.S. Bach for Ein’ Feste Burg, A Mighty Fortress.
The mountain on which I lived (2001-2007) was often feisty, having provided us with over 36 inches of a white Christmas within a few days preceeding this writing. Life is hard, but I loved it there.
My mother, I believe, always thought I was a bit feisty; others find I am not assertive enough. You are free to have your own opinion.
It is my aim to “take courage”; to grab life by the throat and shake it; to chase my dreams with every bit of planning and joy I can muster and to pass on that same enjoyment to my children. I want to be a mighty fortress to my family and to be well grounded in that Mighty Fortress of which Luther wrote and to whom and of whom Bach wrote each week.

Eine Feisty Berg:
I would love to start a writing group. I’ve been so discouraged and hence lazy about the whole thing, and I’m glad Sarah pointed you in my direction.
Any thoughts on how to start?
And what are you reading right now?
p.s.: What mountain do you live on?

I love the name of your blog! Very clever.
Also, The Marquis’ Wife is one of my favorite books. I have loved George MacDonald since my mom read The Princess and the Goblins to me at age 6, but didn’t discover his (prolific!) novels until a few years ago.
ALSO, I love this description from your housesitting post: “There are also deeper, darker, and richer memories that flood my mind and spirit as I pause before yellowed photographs. Not the dark of somber or unrelenting, depressing clouds; but dark like chocolate or dusky wine.” Memories like dark chocolate or dusky wine. Wonderful.
